Disney Ticket Price Increase 2010

It’s that time of year again when we suspect that Disney might be about to increase the price of a themepark ticket. For the past four years Disney has raised it’s ticket prices on the first Sunday in August, which in 2010 happens to be August 1st.

If you have a Disney World vacation booked then you should think seriously about buying your tickets today before the potential price increase tomorrow.

Annual Passholders

If you are a Premium, Annual or Seasonal passholder and you renew before August 31, 2010 you will receive a pass for 15 months instead of 12 months. Don’t forget that you get a discount for renewing up to 30 days before or after your ticket’s expiration date.

Diana The People’s Princess – New Exhibition Opens at Downtown Disney West Side

A new exhibit is now open in the old Virgin Megastore building over at Disney’s Downtown Disney. Diana -- The People’s Princess celebrates the life and times of the late Diana, Princess of Wales; bringing more than 800 rare artifacts including items from her childhood, engagement and royal wedding as well as hand-written notes and her infamous gowns and suits.

The exhibit is open daily through November 30, 2009 and ticket prices are $14.50 (ages 10 and above), and $5 (ages 3-9). If you’d like to stop by and celebrate the life of Princess Diana the exhibit is open from 11am through 11pm every day.

I posted an article earlier this week about a rumoured price rise tomorrow – Sunday August 3 – and it’s now official.

At Walt Disney World, tickets for adults (aged 10 and older) will rise from $71 to $75, while tickets for children aged 3 to 9 will increase from $60 to $63. The park hopper option will also increase from $45 to $50.

Over at Disneyland one-day prices will rise from $66 to $69 for adults (aged 10 and older), and from $56 to $59 for children aged 3 to 9.

Disney also raised the price of its “Magic Your Way” multiday-ticket packages; the top deal, a 10-day adult Magic Your Way ticket, now costs $237, or $23.70 a day, up 5.3 percent. The Park Hopper add-on, which allows ticket holders to visit more than one park each day, will cost $50 for up to 10 days, a $5 increase. The Water Park Fun & More add-on option remains $50.

Don’t forget that the more days you can afford to buy at once, the more affordable each day is – just don’t forget the non-expiring option if you won’t use up all the days during one trip.
