What’s the weather like at Walt Disney World?

In a previous article I talked about the best times of year to visit Walt Disney World – covering crowd levels and briefly touching on the weather.

Today I thought I’d share some more detailed information about the weather you might experience at different times of the year. The good news is that thanks to the tropical climate it’s sunny pretty much all year round – but those of you who, like me, prefer not to melt the minute you step outside of your hotel might want to know when the cooler periods are!

As I’ve said before there is a risk of rain at any time – but obviously if you choose to travel during hurricane season this risk will be higher. Rain when it arrives is usually in the form of scattered thunderstorms – and can be a welcome relief from the heat.

How many hours of sun can you expect to see?

The sunniest months are April through June where you’ll see 9 to 10 hours a day. In December and January you should still see 7 hours.

How wet could you get?

The wettest months are June through September – although hurricane season extends through to early November. I think sometimes you just get unlucky – during our October 07 trip it seemed to rain constantly for a week – but we didn’t let that spoil our fun!

What are the temperatures like?

The warmest months are May through September with temperature highs up in the 30s (90sF). Even January musters a respectable high of 22C (71F) degrees, and even with lows of 9.5C (49F) I think I’d rather be there than in the grips of an English winter!
