While it’s not something we like to think about, there is a good chance it could rain during your Walt Disney World vacation. If you get caught in a downpour while at the parks you will find yourself surrounded by people in matching ponchos with a huge Mickey Mouse emblazoned on the rear – and plenty of Cast Members willing to sell you a matching version.

Besides the fact that these ‘emergency’ ponchos are quite pricey they also make it really difficult for you to locate your family in a crowd.

Before you leave home head down to your local dollar store or Walmart and pick up some cheap disposable ponchos – you can store them easily in the bottom of your bag at the parks and then throw them away before you travel home. Yes, the Disney ones are better quality, and have Mickey Mouse on them – but trust me, while you may be happy to wear one while at Disney World you will not want to be seen dead in it back home!

If you are travelling with young children in strollers don’t forget to pack some rain covers for them too.
