Disney World Vacation Tips – Guide Books for the Walt Disney World Traveller
While the Internet is a great source of information to help you plan your Walt Disney World trip I think that nothing can beat a good book – after all it’s much easier to throw a book in your bag to read on the flight or refer to while you’re at the parks.
If you head to your local book store you will find shelves full of books about Disney World – so here’s my top picks to help you make the decision:
The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World
My dad bought this book before our very first trip way back when – and it’s packed full of useful information to help you plan your trip. To me the best part is that it details every single attraction and gives you an idea of what to expect and which age ranges it will appeal to – perfect for the scaredy cats amongst us (me included) who like to know whether a roller coaster is going to turn me upside down!
Passporter’s Walt Disney World starter pack
I bought my first Passporter the year I was planning our Fairytale Wedding trip – the starter pack comes with a large leather organiser (similar to a filofax) with the book inside. The great thing about this is you can remove the pages that aren’t relevant to you to make it a bit lighter to carry (for instance if you’re staying in a Disney resort you only need to take the pages about that hotel). There is then room to make notes about what you plan to do each day and pockets to collect things like ticket stubs and receipts (great for all you scrapbookers). Its the perfect way to store all of the information you have collected during the planning phase all in one place.
Passporter’s Open Mouse
I haven’t read this book but I hear it is a useful resource if you are travelling with children or adults with special needs.
Even though I’ve been to Disney World more times than I can count I’m always on the look out for great guide books – so if you have a favourite book, post the title in the comments box below.
