Disney World Tip | Dollar store glow sticks

Before you head off to Walt Disney World on vacation take a trip down to your local dollar store or stationery store and buy a box of glow sticks. These will come in handy during your trip for the following three reasons:

  1. If you have children and are planning on attending any of the evening spectaculars – Fantsamic, Wishes or Illuminations – you will be surrounded by cast members selling expensive light up toys. Armed with your cheap glow sticks your children can make their own glow in the dark necklaces – and even share them with nearby children to keep them all occupied while you wait for the show.
  2. Hotel bathrooms do not usually have a window – which means a night time trip requires turning on the light – blinding yourself and waking everyone up. Simply place a glow stick in the bathroom and if you need to ‘go’ during the night you’ll have enough light to see by.
  3. If you’re travelling with children who don’t like to sleep in the dark then placing a glow stick by their bed will act as a night light.
