The Disney Magic meets Fantasia with a new splash pool
Image by Scott Ableman via Flickr The Disney Magic cruise ship is scheduled for a three-week dry dock stay later this month – and during that time will receive a series of upgrades including the introduction of a Fantasia themed splash pool and 22 inch LCD televisions in each of the guest cabins.
According to Disney a 385-foot ‘Mickey’s Splash Zone’ will be added to the Mickey Pool on Deck Nine – themed around the Sorcerer’s Apprentice scene from Fantasia. The splash zone will feature star and moon shaped fountains and will include an area suitable for young children in swim diapers.
Other upgrades include new waterfalls in the Quiet Cove, plush new chairs at the Cove Cafe and new registration areas at the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab that will allow to children to check in and out of the kid-focused clubs simply by tapping a sensor with their wristbands.
During the dry-dock period the Magic will also be treated to a hull coating to reduce surface resistance and increase fuel efficiency.
