New baby elephant gets a name
Image via WikipediaOn July 2, 2008 I reported that Disney’s Animal Kingdom had welcomed a new baby elephant into the herd – and the newest addition to the park now has a name.
Disney officials wanted to give the baby an appropriate name – and as he is the largest calf born in the park they looked to Kenya’s largest national park for inspiration – and named the calf Tsavo (pronounced sah-vo).

Animal Kingdom welcomes baby elephant
My favourite part of the Kilimanjaro Safari over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is seeing the elephants – especially when the ‘little ones’ are out and about and being mischievous. Last weekend 26 year old Mojo gave birth to a 327-pound male elephant – the newest addition, who hasn’t been named yet, is the heaviest calf ever born at the park.
