Disney Resorts are often an attraction in themselves, and you’ll have almost as much fun exploring your hotel as you do at the theme parks! Each resort has its own theme from the Savannah at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, to over sized movie icons at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort. There are almost 20 Disney resorts for you to choose from, and countless hotels in the nearby area so you’ll need to spend some time looking into which resort is right for you and your family.

All Disney resorts are divided into different price categories, and the amenity levels match the price bracket.

Value Resorts

The most affordable resorts are called Value Resorts and they include All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, All-Star Sports and Pop Century. Each of these resorts offers food courts, pizza delivery, swimming pools and free bus transportation to the parks.

Moderate Resorts

The Moderate Resorts are slightly more expensive and offer more amenities to you during your stay. They include the Coronado Springs, Caribbean Beach, Port Orleans French Quarter, Port Orleans Riverside and Fort Wilderness Cabins. You’ll find full-service restaurants as well as the food court. The swimming pools have a slide and hot tub, and you’ll find other forms of on-site recreation. You can travel to the parks using the free bus or boat transportation.

Deluxe Resorts

The Deluxe Resorts are the most expensive of the Disney hotels on offer, but they also offer the most amenities for guests. You’ll find several full-service restaurants with world-class chefs, food courts and room service. You’ll have access to valet parking, swimming pools with slides and hot tubs, access to the beach and on-site childcare. Access to the parks is by free bus, boat or monorail. Deluxe resort hotels include: Wilderness Lodge, BoardWalk Inn, Contemporary, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Yacht Club and Beach Club, and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin.

Campground

Guests who enjoy camping on vacation should consider the Fort Wilderness Campground. This resort offers a multitude of activities and is extremely popular.

Disney Vacation Club Resorts

Disney also offers home away from home accommodation in the form of the DVC Resorts. These resorts have full-service restaurants and food courts as well as kitchen facilities. The swimming pools include slides and hot tubs, and there are many more on-site amenities available. Once again there is a free bus, boat or monorail service to the parks. Disney Vacation Club Resorts include Old Key West, Villas at Wilderness Lodge, BoardWalk Villas, Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa and the Beach Club Villas. The newest resorts to open in 2009 include the Kidani Village at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Tree House Villas at Saratoga Springs and Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort.
