If Southern charm and hospitality are more your thing then you’ll love the Port Orleans Riverside – where you’ll experience life on the Mississippi River.

In the Magnolia Bend section of this Moderate Resort you will find beautiful old plantation homes with elegant rooms that speak of romance.

Over the Sassagoula River in the Alligator Bayou section you’ll find buildings that look just like the cabins or lodges you’d find alongside the Mississippi.

What are the rooms like?

All rooms have one King sized bed or two Doubles. Some of the rooms in the Alligator Bayou also have a pull out bed, which will sleep a small child. You’ll have plenty of storage space as well as a small fridge, iron and ironing board.

All rooms are wired for High Speed Internet Access.

Royal Guest Rooms are now available for reservation for stays from February 2012 onwards. Brought to life by your favourite Disney Characters these rooms are fit for royalty with custom curtains and bed linens, ornately decorated beds and headboards that glitter with fibre optic lights!

What is the pool area like?

Ol’ Man Island has a large pool, slide and hot tub area. There is also a playground for the little ones.

There are also quiet pools in each of the sections (three in Alligator Bayou and two in Magnolia Bend).

Is there any other recreation available?

You might prefer to rent a bike or a boat but for a true Louisiana-feel make sure you check out the horse drawn carriage rides!

If you are travelling with children then check out the catch and release fishing, the butterfly garden, the face painter (extra charge) and the Sassagoula River Adventure Cruise (extra charge).

What eating options do I have?

The Riverside Mill food court has five or six counter service areas offering pastries and made to order salads to hamburgers, pizzas and pasta.

If you’d prefer a sit down meal then Boatwright’s specializes in Cajun dishes.

The Sassagoula Pizza Express will deliver fresh pizza to your room between the hours of 4pm and midnight seven days a week.

What else do I need to know?

The main building, the Commercial Center, is on the Alligator Bayou side of the river. If you’re staying in the Magnolia Bend mansions then you can get there via a footbridge over the river.

The Commercial Center is home to Fulton’s General Store and the Roost Lounge.

Port Orleans Riverside is located in the Downtown Disney resort area, just upstream from the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort.
