In recent years the Disney parks have held themed celebrations, and 2011 is no different. “Let the Memories Begin” is a very special celebration of family vacations and magical memories. And all of us who have a shared love for Disney can be the stars of the show. For the first time, Guest’s home videos and photographs will be featured in Disney television ads and other print and online communications.

If you want to get involved then head over to DisneyParks.com/Memories. It’s a new destination where you can upload your Disney vacation memories captured in photos and videos and share them with the world.

You can choose to share your memory on the Disney Parks website, Facebook, Youtube or Myspace.

They’re looking for favourite memories from both inside and outside of the parks, and photographs and videos that capture those once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

But it doesn’t stop there.

Appearing on Cinderella Castle

[advert1]“The Magic, The Memories, and You!” is a dramatic new show filled with special effects and magic, which transforms Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World Resort and “it’s a small world” at Disneyland Resort into shimmering canvases featuring images of Guests and the memories they made that day at the Magic Kingdom or Disneyland Park.

The nighttime spectacle which will take place before the Wishes fireworks display features as many as 500 photographs of Guests captured by the PhotoPass photographers during the day. The one of a kind show will also feature video and other photos submitted by Guests, along with music and the odd firework or two.

“The ten-minute experience dazzles park guests in ways never before experienced, themed to beloved Disney stories and with playful animated sequences that seem to defy the architecture of the buildings — and even bring the architecture to life”, said Alan Bruun, associate creative director, Walt Disney World Entertainment.
